Teach Me How To Dougie?

Watch this first...

I don't know if it will work but apparently if you learn how to "Dougie" all the "Bitches" will love you and they will immediately want to "screw" you...... Hmmmmm....My 14 year old sister made me aware of this little bubble of wierd and boy did it make me feel old!

SO, I thought "fuck this! Im gonna learn how to Dougie!"

I did some research....

I can now officially say that no thanks to the guy on the far right of this instructional video, I can Dougie. It's kinda like moving around like you shat your pants whilst paddleing down a river in a canoe.... Now I just gotta find me some bitches... Thanks 'Cali Swag District'.

ADELE 21....For real?

This new album from Adele '21' I must admit is the first album of hers I've actually bought and listened to. And I actually feel sorry for myself that I wasn't exposed to her earlier. She's ace!

Big ballsy ballads and soulful lyrics, and a voice that's real and true. Very rare these days is a voice that you can trust. But Adele is solid and you know for a fact that this woman could pull off the same intensity with herself and just an acoustic guitar or piano.

It's funny that because she's only 21 alot of people have said that they find it hard to take her lyric content seriously, that she couldn't possibly understand heart break and loss to the extent that she descibes in songs such as 'Don't you remember?' but I disagree. I think about how much heart ache and devestation I felt at the age of 18, going through being dumped by a boyfriend or cheated on, it really was 'devestation' in the true sense of the word. And I really think Adele's album captures the real sense of drama that you feel at this age.

Yes, she is mature beyond her years but I think it only seems that way because she's able to express herself  in a way that most 21 year olds only wish they could. I love her, and I love '21'.

Who Run The World?....Beyonce. x

This shit freaked my brain out...

This live performance of 'Who Run The World' not only shat on everything else at this years Billboard  Music Awards but it pretty much set a new standard to live pop performance. I'm convinced this woman is an alien. The technical production with the animated graphics leaves you gob-smacked and wondering how many hours of rehearsal did it take to create such effortless precision? And the army of female dancers definately makes you think that maybe one day it could be possible that the world will be run by hot, leotard wearing babes.

In a world of lip syncing and fake lesbian stage antics (Yes Britney and RiRi, I'm looking at you!) Beyonce rises above the rest with originality, class and dignity, not to mention a voice that'll make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. Yes, she is fierce....And yes, she can run my world anytime!

Goddess On A Mountain Top...

My earliest memory of 'Pop' music was at the age of around 3 years old watching Bananarama's Venus video clip on TV. All that teased hairsprayed hair, the shiney red lipstick, costumes, spangley earrings, the synchronised dance moves, smoke machines... That was what I wanted to be when I grew up... A Goddess On A Mountain Top.

My Mum was probably my biggest Pop influence as a child, I would spend hours watching her in the mirror getting ready for gigs, she was a singer in lots of different bands. Some cover bands, some original, but all pop bands. Most nights of the week were spent hanging out in her bedroom watching her add lashings of mascara and lipstick to her already perfect face.

My favourite thing was her hair piece, it was a long thick auburn switch that she attatched at the top of her head with a gold cone. Her pony tail would cascade down around her shoulders, deadly straight, and she would finish it all off with a highly teased fringe. She was incredible.

Spiked heels, black mini dress, a leather cropped, shoulder padded jacket and a thanks to the baby sitter for the 100th time for coming at short notice (again) and she was out the door. Off to work for the night. To belt out Bananarama and Bangles numbers to a packed house at The Raffles. She was my frikkin' hero.

Ever since then Pop music has been part of my life. I love it. ALL of it. Even the crap stuff! I'm just so facinated with the whole process. From the construction of the perfect pop song, to the strategically high cut denim shorts on a backing dancers bodacious ass that you just can't look away from. I'm in love with it all.

So, I'm dedicating this blog to all things Pop Music. From songs, to videos, to fashion, to dancers to celebrity madness, anything Pop Music related I'm gonna write about it. I'll be reviewing, comparing, disecting, analysing and procrastinating. So if you don't like Pop music, don't read this blog. I'm not trying to solve the problems of the world, Im just writing about something that I love...
